NIE + Spanish bank account
We prepare the paperwork, book the appointments, arrange a power of attorney if needed and open the account, choosing the fastest route between the Spanish consulate in your country, Spain itself and our partner banks. By the end you have an active NIE and a working account, without burning flights and working days.
Three problems that hit almost everyone who tries to handle it alone.
The Spanish consulate that covers your area gives you an appointment 2-4 weeks out. Then it takes several more weeks to receive the final NIE. Get one document wrong and you start over.
A missing apostille, a sworn translation done by the wrong person, a badly completed EX-15 form, a "buying a property" motive that is not documented well enough. The consulate does not explain what you got wrong: it just refuses.
Most banks require a NIE to open an account suitable for a property purchase or a mortgage file. Alternatives do exist in some cases, but they are not always accepted by the lending bank or by the conveyancing process: getting the order of operations wrong can stall the purchase for weeks.
A trip to Spain to do the NIE yourself easily costs €800-1,500 (flight + hotel + working days lost), with no guarantee that one trip is enough. Our remote service — wherever the procedure allows it — costs less and pays for itself the first time it prevents a mistake.
We handle it end to end with a dedicated English-speaking advisor. We prepare the full documentation, manage the appointment (consulate or Spain) and open the account with one of our partner banks. In most cases you neither travel nor set foot in a branch.
Mortgage, NIE and account with the same team: one file, one advisor, no bouncing between offices — and the timeline shortens because everything moves together.

The prices shown are for our handling. For the NIE, the official administrative fee (form 790, around €10) is separate. Timings are indicative: they depend on the consulate and the offices involved.
Add the NIE and the account to the same file: both together for €600, one advisor, one invoice — and the documents the mortgage needs arrive already coordinated.
We work out whether the consulate route suits you better (no travel, roughly 4-8 weeks) or the Spain route (faster, roughly 2-4 weeks).

If you want to do it yourself, here are the real steps. If you would rather we handled it, we do it remotely (through the consulate or by power of attorney) for €500 in handling (plus the official administrative fee, around €10).
The Número de Identidad de Extranjero is the Spanish tax identification number for foreigners. You need it to:
1. The Spanish consulate in your country
Whichever one covers your area — we identify it for you. Roughly 4-8 weeks: it depends on the consulate.
2. An Oficina de Extranjeros in Spain
A comisaría or a dedicated office. Roughly 2-4 weeks: it depends on the offices.
Would you rather not deal with it?
We will: €500 in handling (official fee of around €10 on top), English-speaking advisor, no trips.
Same here: if you want to do it yourself we explain how, and if you prefer we handle it for €200 standalone, or bundled with the NIE for €600.

Yes — some banks allow remote opening with e-signature and video identification, depending on your profile and documentation. Others require you to be there in person at least for the initial activation. We check that for you against the bank that actually suits your profile.
As a non-resident you open a cuenta no residente. Once you obtain Spanish tax residency, you convert it into a resident account. Costs and conditions change: we explain that before you sign.

Yes — in many cases you can avoid the trip by going through the Spanish consulate that covers your area, or through an authorised representative acting under a power of attorney. Timings depend on the competent consulate, appointment availability and how complete your documents are.
Indicative timings, dependent on the consulate and the offices: consulate route 4-8 weeks (2-4 for the appointment + 2-4 for processing). In Spain: 2-4 weeks if we book in a less congested region.
The Spanish administrative fee is around €10 (form 790 code 012). Our fee for full handling is €500. Around €510 in total. Without us: the fee + travel + working hours lost, easily €800-1,500.
For an account genuinely usable for a mortgage and a property purchase, the NIE is normally required. Alternatives may exist (fintech accounts such as N26, or passport-only accounts), but they are not always suitable or accepted within the conveyancing process.
It depends on the bank. Some allow remote opening (e-signature / video identification) depending on your profile, your documentation and the channel available; others require you to be present at least once. We pick the bank that fits your profile.
The NIE number stays attached to the person. What can change is the validity — or the acceptance — of the certificate or document you present for a specific transaction. Before completion we check whether the document you hold is enough, or whether it needs renewing.
We handle non-standard cases too: NIEs for company purchases, inheritance, cross-border gifts. The cost varies and we agree it in the quote.
Refusal is rare when the documentation is properly prepared — which is exactly what we take care of. If it happens anyway, we analyse the reason, correct the file and resubmit it. The final outcome rests with the Spanish administration, but we do not leave you halfway.
Fill in the form: we get back to you within 24 working hours — by email or phone, depending on your case. If it helps, we book a free 30-minute call to work out whether the consulate or the Spain route suits you, and give you an exact quote.
